About Paula C. Lichiello: Paula has been a member of AAUW at the national level since 2008 and appreciates the opportunity to serve as Recording Secretary for AAUW of VA for 2025-2027. She joined the Lynchburg Affiliate in 2023 and currently serves as the Program Vice President. In May 2024, she was a panelist for “Finding the Right Career for You” at the University of Maryland in College Park as part of AAUW’s National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL).
With 25+ years of experience in education, she has taught preschool, middle school math and Pre-Algebra, and graduate leadership courses on-campus, online, and abroad in St. Lucia. During her 16 years at the University of Lynchburg, she served in a variety of roles including Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, Associate Professor, Noyce Grant Pathway Coordinator, and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation Coordinator. She was also a Project Director/Coordinator for 17 grants including an AAUW Grant, “Girls Go Green 4 S.T.E.M.”
Recently retired, Paula is an avid reader, community volunteer, and quilter. She received a BS degree from West Virginia University and MEd and EdD degrees from Lynchburg College (now University of Lynchburg). She continues to advocate for education at all levels, and this is illustrated by her commitment to empowering and mentoring others as they pursue their personal and professional goals.
