Fairfax County Women’s History Month Proclamation Ceremony

Dianne Blais, Kitty Richardson, and I represented AAUW of VA at the Fairfax Board of Supervisors’ proclamation ceremony in recognition of Women’s History Month.  The proclamation celebrated Women in STEM.  The proclamation recipient was Dr. Joy Hughes, Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at George Mason University.

Prior to the ceremony there was a reception honoring Dr. Hughes and women in STEM.  It was a great opportunity to meet like-minded women and exchange ideas, information, and business cards.

We then went to the Board Auditorium for the proclamation. Several women from different organizations/offices joined Dr. Hughes at the podium for the proclamation.  I represented AAUW.
